Recovery Starts With You

Here at Recovery NC, our mission is to connect evidence-based programs that offer proven interventions to those individuals and families battling a substance use disorder, both individually and at the community-level.

Our non-profit organization believes in treating each person with respect and concern in order to give them the best chance at pursuing a healthy, long-term recovery. We believe connecting those struggling with a substance use disorder, their families, and the communities we serve with needed resources ensure a lifelong recovery from alcohol and other drugs.

Recovery NC funds the following programs: Programs connecting people in early recovery with sponsors, peers, recovery coaches, AA/NA, and others in the recovery communities;  Programs connecting those with a substance use disorder (to include those facing re-entry from prison, jail, or other institutions) and their families to needed evidence-based services, including treatment, housing, employment opportunities, education, etc.

Recovery NC partners with respected agencies to deliver addiction treatment services and general behavioral health services for the uninsured. Recovery NC initially formed as Project Lazarus of Greater Hickory in July 2019 and focused on its outreach and prevention work for Catawba County and the surrounding North Carolina communities. As a need presented to secure funding opportunities, Recovery NC, a 501(c)3, was formed to continue this mission.
